    Prospective Counseling Psychology Ph.D. Students

I am highly passionate about mentorship and working with graduate students. I am looking for students with prior research experience, data analytic skills, interest and curiosity about similar research topics and ideas, professionalism/interpersonal skills, self-motivation, and a desire to present at national conferences (e.g. APA, Division 45, SRCD) and write/edit/publish in peer-reviewed journals.

I will be looking for fit between your research interests as well as the lab’s mission and my mentorship style.

I do not meet with prospective students before the interview.

In your statement, I would suggest including the following:
  • Describe your current research interests and career goals (e.g., What keeps you up at night? What questions are you curious about? What led you here?)
  • Describe your background/experiences that will help you carry out your research
  • Describe how graduate training at ASU in the CCP program will help you achieve your career goals. Please remember to list 1-3 faculty members who would align with your research interests.
  • Prospective Undergraduate Students

If you are interested in joining the R&R lab, you must commit to at least two semesters as a research assistant, come to all lab meetings, and work independently on tasks during the week, and be responsive to emails and communication.

You are expected to work 6-9 hours per week on research. Course credit is available.

If you are interested in joining, please email me your name, email, degree you are pursuing, research interests, future career goal, how you see yourself contributing to the lab, your availability, unofficial transcript, and CV. We may have a follow-up discussion.
